The serial number generated by Fusion for macOS guest operating system contains special characters. Due to this invalid serial number, Apple push notifications for certain third-party applications installed in the macOS virtual machine do not work.
In Fusion 11.1.0, for freshly created macOS virtual machine, the serial number in the new guest operating system contains alphanumeric characters only. For any existing macOS virtual machine, the serial number remains unchanged.
If user wants to make the existing macOS virtual machine use serial number that contains alphanumeric characters only, below option needs to be added manually into the virtual machine's configuration file (.vmx file): smbios.restrictSerialCharset = \"TRUE\"
7. If you are a faculty member, a staff member, or a PhD student using an iSchool-provided computer, use the serial number to license VMware Fusion, which may already be installed on your computer. Contact the iSchool IT Help Desk if you need more information or access to a Windows Virtual Machine.
you only need to activate your cs6 and if it's not already activated, you will be prompted after choosing to register later (or never). at the activation prompt, enter your 24 digit serial number (6 groups of 4 numbers) and if that's accepted, installation should complete.
The problem is that I can not activate CS6 because I am not taken to the point where I can put in my 24 digit serial number. That would probably be next to the point where I have to log in with my Adobe ID. But when I do it just takes my back to the log in prompt but not to the serial number prompt. 153554b96e
